Message From the Leadership

Peter Aowa, Founder & CEO

When I graduated from one of Kenya’s leading universities as a communication professional, I carried with me not just an academic certificate but also lived experience shaped by resilience, and the support of well-wishers whose kindness made my education possible.

As someone who once faced life as a street boy in Kisumu, I understand the power of opportunity and the impact of being seen and supported. In my work in media, I have also witnessed how storytelling can either deepen society’s challenges or help solve them.

The Africa Feature Network was founded on a simple belief that media should not only report problems, but actively document and support solutions. Through solutions journalism, advocacy, and direct action, we aim to show how storytelling can drive real transformation.

Here, journalism is not passive. It is a tool for change. We are action-oriented storytellers committed to building a more just, inclusive, and thriving Africa.
